Rob commenced his career in hospitality in 1997, working in hotel operations whilst studying an Advanced Diploma of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Learning all aspects of hotel operations, Rob later joined Accor Hotels Asia Pacific as the internet was emerging and Revenue Management was established in the industry. In 2009, Rob relocated with Accor to the United Kingdom. He soon joined DeVere Hotels and Resorts, which led to working under the ownership of Private Equity fund, KSL Capital, in multiple leadership and asset turn-around roles.
Rob was involved in the successful turnaround and sale of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, almost doubling the asset value in under three years. He then led the commercial strategy of a new acquisition (29 Village Hotels and Gyms), implementing a £6m technology investment, creating more than £2m of annual cost savings to enhance exit value.
Until recently, Rob served as CEO of Best Western Great Britain (GB), overseeing a strategy to grow scale, profitability and demutualise the organisation with the goal of attracting external investment. In addition, Rob steered the Best Western Great Britain board to an ambitious growth target investing in people and technology and navigating the difficult pandemic landscape.
Rob maintains ownership and active roles in several startups and Hotel Technology companies. His 'hands-on' approach keeps his finger on the pulse of the latest trends and opportunities.
